GTLH: Practical Research 2: Quantitative Research equips senior high school students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes to plan and conduct research on a topic of interest utilizing basic quantitative methods. It explains briefly how quantitative research methods are different from qualitative research methods, the strengths and weaknesses of each approach, and when the use of quantitative research methods should be considered. The book walks readers through the various stages involved in conducting a quantitative research study from identifying a suitable topic, to developing the research questions, to reviewing the literature, to selecting and planning an appropriate quantitative method, to organizing and analyzing the data, to interpreting the results, and to writing the research report. It also describes the key sections of a research report, introduces basic guiding principles and ideas, and provides concrete examples, tips, and explanations in developing and writing them. As an introductory text, the quantitative methods covered were purposively simplified and limited to those that can easily be learned and immediately applied by senior high school students in their own research projects. The book was designed following a philosophy of experiential learning. Lessons were developed with the expectation that knowledge and skills covered will be immediately applied.
