Introduction to Philosophy of the Human Person: Philosophizing and Being Human essentially reflects the Department of Education’s aim of student formation grounded upon the recognition of the value of critical and analytical philosophical reflection. The textbook opens by showing and assuring the readers that they can philosophize. It also aims to help readers understand that philosophy is not some ultradense subject that has nothing to do with real life affairs. Philosophizing is an activity that is truly worth one’s time and effort.

This textbook runs not just on information, but more importantly, it takes the form of a conversation, producing personal insights or awakenings, dialogues, discourse, and in dialectics. It is not merely a glossary of important philosophical terms, but a dialogue partner— something the students can have a conversation with every time they feel burdened with questions that do not seem to have any answers (the so-called un-Googleables).

The content and writing style of the textbook speak to the readers on the most fundamental level—on the level of being human. The way the book is discussed will prove relevant to the students as people. Hence, it has the capacity to converse with as many kinds of students as possible, rich or poor, male or female, religious or nonreligious. The textbook comes with Teachers Wraparound Edition, the new learning guide format of the House. It also contains a detailed curriculum map.
