DESCRIPTION
Math Connections in the Digital Age: Statistics and Probability is a comprehensive
textbook that aims to develop independent learning among students. It is a problem-based
textbook that uses both guided-discovery and inquiry-based approaches in teaching
concepts. Discussions of topics and exercises are anchored on various contemporary
situations. In effect, learners become interested and eager to learn probability and statistics.
The learning competencies in the textbook rigidly comply with the DepEd’s K to 12 Curriculum
for senior high school. This textbook focuses on teaching the students how to find the mean
and variance of a random variable, apply sampling techniques and distributions, estimate
population mean and proportion, perform hypothesis testing on population mean and
proportion, and perform correlation and regression analyses on real-life problems.
